British American Tobacco UK has an exciting opportunity for for a Corporate Finance Manager in London
As part of Statutory Reporting team, you will support in knowledge acquisition, design and implementation of corporate financial reporting and accounting developments across the Group’s three filing jurisdictions United Kingdom, United States and South Africa.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assessing implications and providing solutions for changes in regulations and accounting standards (interim and annual).
- Preparing proposal papers on the application of enhancements or accounting/regulatory developments ensuring technical accuracy, impact analysis on primary statements, KPIs and Non-GAAP measures through appropriate business application and clear articulation of risks and mitigations.
- Redesign of existing business process or the creation of new business processes to implement reporting, accounting and regulatory developments across all responsible areas. This should include business as usual timelines, consider business controls (SOx), forecasting impacts and IT system changes and requirements where relevant.
- Stakeholder management and education of key functions to include but not limited to Global Finance Teams, Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations and Business Controls.
- Others ad hoc as requested by the Senior Corporate Finance Manager, Group Chief Accountant, Group Statutory Reporting Manager & Financial Controller – Accounting Developments.
What are we looking for?
- Degree educated with relevant professional accountancy qualification.
- IFRS, US GAAP and financial reporting experience strongly preferred.
- Experience desired in areas like: lease accounting, business combinations, retirement benefits, financial instruments, derivatives and hedging and consolidation.
- Experience in a Group reporting function preferred.
- Experience of implementing changes in accounting standards or regulations within a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment preferred.
- An understanding and knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems to include SAP and BPC.
- Effective working relationships across multiple stakeholders – including non finance.
- Ability to work under pressure, keep to tight deadlines and be motivated to deal with ambiguity.
- Excellent financial accounting and SOx technical knowledge.
