Role Summary

The Senior Finance Manager drives the business partnering with the DBS function to:

  • Translate Business Plans into financials at functional level (both Opex and Capex).
  • Ensure execution of Business plans in line with DBS Strategy ensuring financial rigor.
  • Provide insights related to financial performance against Business plans.
  • Build strong financial and commercial awareness within Business areas supported.
  • Conduct continuous horizon scanning / risk analysis, and ensure red flags are timely raised to trigger appropriate Management intervention on evolving risks.
  • Challenge the current way of working and add new value to business discussions by bringing-in finance perspective.
  • Drive / Participate in Ad-hoc projects from time-to-time.
  • Develop a high performing culture, by building and leading a motivated team.

Role Duties and Accountabilities

  • Engagement / Proactive Solutioning / Partnership / financial insights to IDT Management.
  • Provide high quality financial and commercial recommendations to the business.
  • Act as main point of contact and key interface between Finance and Business to agree financial plans, initiatives and associated Governance in order to meet DBS objectives.
  • Lead bottom-up exercise for IDT Co-Plan in line with Business priorities.
  • Drive Investment appraisal for new initiatives and Capex spend for IDT.
  • Drive Productivity Agenda in respective areas to ensure financials are delivered OTIF.
  • Provide monthly SOP inputs to P&R team.
  • Provide financial inputs to Procurement Team during renewal of existing contracts and signing of new contracts.
  • Perform balance sheet forecast for respective areas to ensure that IDT operating cashflow targets are delivered.
  • Provide requisite support to Center Recharge Team to ensure all Global DBS recharges (GSD + GBS) are performed with accuracy, in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all direct recharges (including Breakeven Models where applicable) are performed in a timely manner after due alignments with recipient of costs.
  • Encourage continuous improvement approach by drawing / documenting findings, and embedding improvements in process / ways of working.
  • Nurture a high-performance culture that drives value through employee engagement and optimally meets all strategic objectives, keeping people motivation and resilience at the core.
  • Development of Talent pipeline and driving Finance People Agenda by recruiting, developing and managing a highly motivated, capable and adequately resourced team.
  • Support and compliance with all Governance requirements (DOA, Internal Controls, Internal / External Audit, Intangible Asset Capitalization, Impairment etc.).
  • Drive an organized culture of spend governance and efficiency among the DBS LT and their teams.

Experience, Skills, Knowledge

Essential Experience Required

  • 7+ years of dynamic experience in finance of Global FMCG, or similar dynamic environment.
  • Proven experience leading diverse Teams.
  • Experience of dealing with uncertainty, proactively identify issues and continuously challenging current way of working.
  • Track record of proven value-addition to business through process, or people interventions.

Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required

  • Ability to present data-driven facts as a story with clarity.
  • Ability to simplify sophisticated situations and synthesize and present complex information.
  • Capacity to adapt quickly amidst change, and rally the team along.
  • Master project planning and subsequent execution.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Ground-breaking attitude / change-savvy, keeping collaboration and consultation at heart of driving change.
  • Strong social skills – ability to build relationships.
  • Develop collaboration among cross-functional teams to efficiently deliver business objectives.
  • Independent, pro-active / self-starter, and is able to take own decisions, taking calculated risks.
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver quality output under pressure.
  • Deliver on timelines, while keeping the team motivated.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel and Power-Point is a must.

Education / Professional Qualifications / Certifications Required

  • Masters (or equivalent) in Accounting / Finance / Business Management, or ACCA / CA / CIMA / CFA (or other similar qualification).

Beneficial

  • Demonstrable experience of Transformation Projects.
  • Professional Experience of working in Big-4.
  • Knowledge of SAP/HFM/BI/BCP an advantage.
  • Project Management experience.
