British American Tobacco (BAT) UK is seeking a Category Analyst based in Chiswick, London. The role collaborates closely with the customer‑facing team (Category Manager and Key Account Manager) and internal stakeholders to transform market and shopper insights into growth opportunities, influence decision‑making, and deliver outstanding performance.
Responsibilities
- Support range reviews, protect core business, and identify new product development (NPD) opportunities.
- Assist the customer‑facing team in building strong relationships with buyers and external partners to support category decision‑making.
- Communicate the voice of the retailer into internal strategy discussions.
- Create clear, concise reports and presentations using retail tools such as Nielsen and HIVE.
- Ensure compliance with environmental protection, health & safety, fire protection regulations and internal EHS or sustainability standards.
Qualifications
- Experience as a category analyst or executive in fast‑paced companies, with exposure to nicotine and impulse FMCG categories.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to translate insight into compelling storytelling.
- Quantitative and qualitative analysis expertise.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence partners.
