British American Tobacco UKhas an exciting opportunity for an Area Marketing Research & Insights Manager in London (12-month fixed-term contract)

In this key role, you will drive impactful consumer and customer insights for HP & Combustibles across the Western Europe area, embedding them into strategic decisions and ensuring research excellence across all markets. You will also act as a key partner to cross-functional teams, championing insight-led thinking and best-in-class research standards.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the implementation and governance of research systems and protocols across all Western Europe end-markets.
  • Supporting the Head of Research & Insights WE in shaping and delivering the HP & Combustibles research and insights agenda.
  • Rolling out best practices in marketing research across the Area, driving consistency and excellence.
  • Leading the analysis of market trends, economic conditions, and consumer behaviours to support strategic decisions.
  • Serving as the central hub for HP & Combustibles insights, coordinating research-related information across markets and senior stakeholders.
  • Managing the Area research roadmap, ensuring projects are relevant, cost-effective, and executed to the highest standard.
  • Translating consumer and customer behaviors into clear, actionable insights that inform brand, pricing, and product strategies.
  • Evaluating the impact of major marketing initiatives through measurable business outcomes and insight-driven reviews.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong commercial experience in brand and trade strategy development, with the ability to translate insights into impactful business actions.
  • Solid understanding of research methodologies, platforms, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience in research project management and design, from scoping to delivery.
  • Expertise in both quantitative and qualitative analysis, with a focus on actionable outcomes.
  • A strong track record in consumer and trade research, ideally within FMCG or related industries.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and influence key business decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and developing teams, fostering growth and high performance.
  • High proactivity in driving the insights & research agenda, with a focus on setting and achieving clear goals.
