You will take lead responsibility for employee resourcing services, ensuring the effective delivery of recruitment, onboarding, payroll, pensions, benefits and HR systems administration, while contributing to the development and implementation of the Academy’s People Strategy.

You will manage and develop a small team comprising an HR Officer and HR Assistant, fostering a high-performing and customer-focused service. Working closely with managers and colleagues across the organisation, you will provide expert advice and guidance on recruitment, reward, benefits, visa sponsorship and related HR policies and procedures.

The role also offers the opportunity to lead on the continued development of the Academy’s HR management information system, including the implementation of new functionality and employee self-service tools. In addition, you will support annual pay processes, working with external payroll and pension providers and providing analytical and administrative support for pay negotiations and the Remuneration Committee.

We are looking for a resilient and collaborative HR professional with significant experience in employee resourcing and operational HR management. You will be an effective communicator with excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving. Experience managing recruitment processes, payroll and benefits administration, HR systems and policy development is essential, together with a sound understanding of employment law and HR best practice.

The British Academy is a values-led organisation committed to collaboration, creativity, empathy, excellence, integrity, resilience and respect. We place a strong emphasis on employee engagement, wellbeing, equality, diversity and inclusion, and are proud that in our most recent staff survey, 88% of employees said they were proud to work for the Academy and 82% would recommend it as a great place to work.
