The British Academy – the UK's national body for the humanities and social sciences – is seeking a Senior Business Analyst (Enterprise Systems) to join our IT and AV team in the Resources directorate. The applicant will support the first phase of the Academy's IT Strategy, focusing on enterprise systems, automation, data and AI-enabled approaches to improve efficiency, service quality and organisational insight.
Responsibilities
- Map current processes, identify pain points and duplication, and assess opportunities for improvement across departments.
- Develop a prioritised pipeline of recommendations for future delivery, presenting evidence-led options to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Analyse the Academy’s core platforms – with particular emphasis on Salesforce and the wider enterprise systems landscape – to determine how they currently support cross‑directorate needs and how they can be optimised, integrated or expanded.
Qualifications
- Strong practical experience in business analysis: process mapping, requirements elicitation, documentation, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Ability to evaluate enterprise systems and service processes, assess feasibility, impact, risk and dependencies, and deliver clear recommendations.
- Experience with CRM or data‑management systems; knowledge of Salesforce is desirable.
- Interest in automation, data readiness and AI‑enabled tools.
- Sound communication skills, sound judgement, and a collaborative approach to continuous improvement.
- Structured, collaborative and curious mindset – comfortable working independently across multiple workstreams and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
