As The Britannia Coin Company continues to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for two Trainee Valuers (Coins & Gold) to join our team on a full-time basis. Trainee Valuers will be responsible for meeting with clients day‑to‑day to appraise coins and other precious metal items with a view to purchase. The successful candidate will also help process parcels received via our postal valuation service and communicate with clients regarding their items by phone and email. While knowledge of coins, precious metals and/or collectables is an advantage, it is not essential. Of primary importance is experience in a sales or purchasing role, excellent customer service skills, and an appetite to learn on the job. We are particularly interested in meeting people with some experience in appraisal (regardless of the industry) and those who are interested in building a career in numismatics. Full in‑house training, including one‑to‑one support from our Head Valuer, will be provided. This is a full‑time, on‑site role based at our High Street valuation centre in Royal Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, where the operating hours are 9am‑5pm, Monday to Friday. We are pleased to discuss adjusted hours or job share arrangements, but home working is not feasible.

- Developing a good working knowledge of our pricing strategy and staying up to date with current priorities
- Maintaining knowledge of current inventory and product offerings via research and team collaboration
- Building positive relationships with customers, as well as the wider customer service team
- Occasional attendance of trade fairs and off‑site valuation events locally and nationally

- Knowledge of coins, precious metals and/or collectables
