Location: Avonmouth, Bristol

Salary: £54,800 per annum + Benefits

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Shift Pattern: Monday to Fridays, alternating day shifts or lates plus on-call requirements.

Police Sergeant – The Role:

Are you a Police Sergeant looking for a new and exciting challenge, or have recently left policing and looking to return? The Port of Bristol Police is seeking to recruit motivated, enthusiastic and experienced officers to be part of the Port’s Police based at Royal Portbury and Avonmouth Docks. This is a unique environment with its own challenges, and you would need to be adaptable to changing circumstances and be able to deal with different incidents.

Police Sergeant – Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and managing staff, ensuring high levels of motivation to enable an effective front line policing service
  • Monitoring and managing team’s performance
  • Assessing capabilities and development needs of staff
  • Co-ordinating front line response to incidents and investigation, allocating resources, directing activities, managing risk and reviewing progression to deliver effective response which support law enforcement and enable public safety
  • Supervising and monitoring the handling of information and intelligence
  • Working with partners
  • Ensuring compliance with ISPS and the Port Facility Security Plan, carry out quarterly reviews and plan annual exercises
  • Control Room duties

Police Sergeant – You:

  • Successful candidates will need to pass a fitness test (level 5.4 shuttle run) and pass a medical and will have previous experience as a Police Sergeant.
  • You must hold a full driving licence.
  • Only candidates who have the right to work in the UK will be considered for this role.
