The Bristol Port Company have an opportunity for a Finance Apprentice to join the team.

Location: Avonmouth, Bristol, BS11 9DQ

Salary: Starting salary Β£19,104 (year one) per annum plus benefits

Job Type: Full Time, 18 Month Apprenticeship

Finance Apprentice The Role:

Are you looking to develop your career within the Finance profession We have an exciting opportunity here at Bristol Port for a Finance Apprentice to join our friendly team within a successful family-owned business. The role will primarily report to our Accounts Payable Manager but have wider involvement in the financial and operational duties of the finance function.

During the 18-month apprenticeship, as well as working with the Finance Department, you will study alongside Weston College to gain the AAT Level 3 qualification.

Finance Apprentice Key Responsibilities:

– Supplier invoice processing

– Assisting with payment processes

– Dealing with supplier and internal queries

– Supporting the month-end and year-end analysis and reconciliations

– Assisting members of the finance team as required

Finance Apprentice You:

Ideally, you will hold a Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, or have experience of working in an accounting setting. If not, you will complete two bookkeeping units at the start of the apprenticeship for the first three months. A good understanding of English and Maths is also required, together with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

You will also liaise with external suppliers and integrate with colleagues from other departments, so good communication skills are important. As a team we work to strict deadlines so you must have an organised and diligent approach to your work.
