The Bristol Port Company have an opportunity for a Police Support Officer to join the team. Starting salary £31,699 per annum, rising on an increment scale + Benefits.

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Shift Pattern: 2-2-2 on, 4 off (2 days, 2 late shifts, 2 night shifts and 4 days off)

Police Support Officer The Role: Are you interested in a career within the Police Service? The Port of Bristol Police is seeking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic person to be part of the Ports Police based at Royal Portbury and Avonmouth Docks.

Police Support Officer Key Responsibilities:

  • Effective patrolling of the Port estate in vehicles, on foot or on bicycles
  • Responding to incidents within the Port estates or on board vessels
  • Providing security patrols for restricted area
  • Providing security at the police gates
  • Control room duties
  • Engaging with the Port community, building trust and adding value to the Port by preventing crime and tackling long term policing issues
  • Undertaking searches of persons, vehicles, vessels and premises
  • Taking part in Road Safety campaigns

Police Support Officer You:

  • This is a uniformed role, supporting Police Officer colleagues within the Port
  • Previous security-focused experience
  • You must be able to work effectively in a small team
  • You must hold a full car driving licence
  • You must successfully clear Police vetting
  • Only candidates who have the right to work in the UK will be considered for this role
