The practice is seeking a dedicated salaried GP to work 4 sessions a week over two days. Many of our patients have been with the practice for a number of years. The main duties of the role will deliver a high level of patient care, supporting all other clinicians in delivering a full range of Primary Care Services to registered patients of the Practice.

To work in partnership with all members of the Health Care team to ensure provision is of the highest standard possible and to help the Practice achieve maximum targets.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Patient consultations (both pre-booked and emergencies when necessary)
  • Face-to-face appointments
  • Telephone consultations
  • Dealing with queries
  • Visiting patients at home
  • Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
  • Checking and filing patient test results and undertaking further actions as required
  • Updating patient medical records and ensuring items are addressed in respect of QOF
  • Undertaking examinations and medical assessments as required (NHS and private)
  • Completing all relevant paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions regarding presenting problems
  • Recording clear and contemporaneous clinic system-based consultation notes to agreed standards

We have a strong clinical team of Practice Nurses, 2 partners, and 2 Salaried GPs all supported by experienced HCAs, administrators, and management team. We are a member of Kingfisher Primary Care Network consisting of five independently run Practices. You will work among a team who are helpful, friendly, supportive, and professional. Job responsibilities: The Salaried GP is responsible for delivering high-quality primary care services to patients within the practice. This includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of a wide range of medical conditions while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Duties: Provide routine and urgent medical care through face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations; assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic illnesses; prescribe medication in line with national and local guidelines; refer patients to secondary care or other services where appropriate; undertake home visits where required; manage test results, clinical correspondence, and follow-up care.
  • Patient Care: Deliver patient-centred care, promoting health and wellbeing; support patients with long-term condition management; safeguard vulnerable patients in line with practice and national policies.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records; complete documentation such as fit notes, reports, and referral letters; participate in workflow management (e.g. reviewing pathology, documents).
  • Practice Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with the wider practice team (nurses, pharmacists, admin staff); participate in practice meetings and clinical discussions; support quality improvement initiatives and audits; contribute to QOF and enhanced services delivery.
  • Professional Development: Maintain GMC registration and licence to practice; participate in annual appraisal and revalidation; engage in continuing professional development (CPD).

Person Specification:

  • Recent CCT within the last 12 to 24 months with no prior regular employment as a salaried GP
  • GMC registration
  • Registration with a recognised medical defence organisation
  • GP training & experience working in a UK General Practice environment
  • Working with EMIS Web
  • Understanding of the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF)
  • Able to work as part of a team, to promote a good team spirit and optimise the practical potential
  • MRCGP
  • Interest in GP training and education
  • Interest in Women’s Health
  • Understanding of Clinical Commissioning
  • Understanding of PCN framework
