Our public sector client are looking for an AWS Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer for a 6 month contract. You will design and implement robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions across AWS and Azure cloud environments, as well as hybrid on-premises platforms (Windows/Linux, VMware).
You will work openly and collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, including third party service providers, to provide expertise and develop architectural solutions.
This role will be instrumental in driving their technology strategy —ensuring their systems are resilient, efficient, and ready for the future.
Key experience required for this role:
Proven expertise in AWS and Azure cloud platforms, with strong knowledge of hybrid environments.
Strong background in Windows/Linux systems and VMware virtualisation.
Solid understanding of cloud architecture best practices, governance, and security.
Experience translating business requirements into scalable technical designs.
A forward-looking mindset with the ability to identify new opportunities for innovation and efficiency.
Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to influence and guide cross-functional teams.
Candidates will be predominantly remote. with 1-2 days per month visit to the Manchester office
