Key Responsibilities

  • Supports our commitment to providing the best possible care for our residents and to make them feel like family within a loving home.
  • Share this approach, valuing the small things that are important to each resident and providing additional care and support when a client is unwell or in the end‑of‑life phase.
  • Act as a Key‑worker to a number of clients.
  • Use personal knowledge and experience of working with those individuals to support nurses in writing and reviewing care plans.
  • Document care given, recording any changes and reporting these to the person in charge of the shift.
  • Provide support and advice to residents' families and friends, keeping them informed at an appropriate level while respecting confidentiality.
  • Work with the Activities Team to develop group and one‑to‑one activities that will be engaging and of interest to residents.
  • Liaise with other agencies as required in the interests of the resident (e.g., GP, Social Services, Occupational Therapist).

Qualifications

  • NVQ/QCF 2 qualified in Health & Social Care is preferred, but not essential.
  • Some care experience is ideal, though we provide lots of training.
  • Good communication skills, be a team player, reliable and committed, and have a natural affinity to older people.

About Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill

Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill is a modern care home in Hampshire, nestled in the village of Otterbourne. The residential home provides both dementia and nursing care for up to 64 residents in a family‑like environment, filled with opportunities for friendship and a sense of community. For a home‑from‑home feel, Otterbourne Hill is divided into smaller households of 16 bedrooms. Our experience over the last 35 years has shown that these smaller households create a lovely family‑like atmosphere. Each household includes communal areas and facilities for socialising, and there are spaces for quieter occupations and tranquillity. The layout is designed to help people find their way around easily. Outside, the gardens and terraces are a real feature. We are people‑driven, focusing on empowerment, inclusivity and understanding. We aim to ensure that whoever comes into the Brendoncare environment—whether as a member, resident, volunteer or colleague—can live their life to the fullest potential. Salary and Shift Details

  • £13.38 per hour (£13.72 with NVQ2).
  • An additional 10% will be paid for weekend shifts as a premium uplift.
