The Brecks Company Limited is a long-established manufacturer of extruded cereal products supplying leading food manufacturers in the B2B sector. Based in East Yorkshire close to Selby, Goole and York, we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Technical Manager to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the Site Director, this is a senior leadership role, site-based, full-time, Monday to Friday.

Main responsibilities
- Develop & implement the company’s technical strategy in line with business objectives.
- Lead the HACCP team.
- Manage internal audits, which includes training and maintaining the competency of auditors.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and regulatory bodies on all technical, food safety, quality and compliance requirements.
- Promote awareness to all staff on issues of food safety, GMP, compliance, allergen and pest control.
- Manage NPD projects from a compliance, quality and food safety perspective from start to finish including the provision of product specifications.
- Carry out investigations and reporting including root cause analysis.
- Lead all external technical audits from suppliers and regulatory bodies such as BRCGS & EHO.
- Provide technical assistance to our Honey Monster Brand with regard to food safety, quality, customer and regulatory compliance.
Skills And Experience
- Proven track record working within food manufacturing in a technical or quality leadership role.
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS and food safety systems.
- Experience leading customer and third-party audits.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to work both strategically and operationally within a fast-paced SME environment.
- Experience managing customer specifications and compliance requirements desirable.
- Food science or related qualification beneficial.
Benefits
