We are looking for a Night Transport Team Coordinator to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Allocate vans and drivers to routes while maintaining service levels and route efficiency.
  • Distribute keys and equipment to drivers, ensuring full traceability, legal compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Act as the main point of contact for drivers throughout the shift, supporting and tracking deliveries to ensure smooth operations.
  • Gather and maintain accurate records, including invoices, vehicle check sheets, and other transport-related paperwork.
  • Collate daily reports for trade performance, complaints, and other key transport metrics.
  • Assist with the organisation of products for loading into driver vans to ensure seamless dispatch operations.
  • Support and mentor drivers, particularly new starters, to improve performance and adherence to company standards.
  • Oversee and manage a team of drivers, ensuring they operate safely, legally, and efficiently.
  • Handle and resolve transport-related issues, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Ensure all drivers adhere to food safety, health & safety, and company procedures.
  • Cover Assistant Transport Managers during absences and assist with general departmental administration or ad-hoc tasks.
  • Step in to cover delivery routes when required.

Shift Pattern: 5 out of 7, 10:00pm - 7:00am

Qualifications

  • Adaptable and resilient, able to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy in record-keeping and reporting.
  • Proactive problem solver, capable of using initiative and practical thinking to resolve challenges.
  • Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Previous experience in a transport department is desirable.
  • Excellent decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A strong team player, able to communicate effectively with colleagues, drivers, and external stakeholders.
