About the Role
As the Hygiene Shift Leader, you will lead and supervise the Hygiene Team to ensure all areas of the bakery meet hygiene and safety standards. You will ensure that cleaning processes are followed meticulously and that the team operates efficiently to meet food safety requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead and supervise the Hygiene Team to deliver consistently high cleaning and sanitation standards.
- Ensure full compliance with SOPs, food safety standards, COSHH requirements, and correct use of PPE.
- Train, coach, and develop team members while monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement.
- Maintain excellent hygiene across equipment, production areas, and workspaces while completing daily compliance checks.
- Support audits, root cause investigations, and continuous improvements to cleaning processes, performance metrics, and resource management.
About You:
- Previous experience in a hygiene or cleaning role within a food manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading or supervising a team, with a focus on motivating and developing team members.
- Strong understanding of hygiene protocols, particularly in food manufacturing and bakery environments.
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe handling of chemicals.
- Ability to follow and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and food safety guidelines.
