The Bread Factory is London’s leading Artisan Bakery, known for award-winning breads, pastries, and cakes, supplying top-quality products across e-commerce, grocery, food services, and retailers such as our GAIL’s Bakeries nationwide. As our teams grow, we seek our next Instructional Designer to join our team on a 6-month contract.

Every day is different at The Bread Factory, but here are some of the things you will be doing:

  • Build structured learning pathways for critical roles
  • Develop a library of video, how-to, and e-learning content
  • Populate and optimise the LMS for usability and engagement
  • Create scalable templates and standards for future content

Our team tells us you will be a great addition if you have:

  • Strong grounding in learning design principles (e.g. adult learning theory, blended learning)
  • Ability to translate operational/manufacturing processes into structured learning journeys
  • Experience designing for different audiences
  • Short-form training videos (storyboarding, scripting, working with SMEs)
  • Step-by-step “how-to” guides and process training
  • Interactive e-learning modules
  • Comfortable using external authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, or similar
  • Basic video editing skills (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience with LMS design tools
  • Familiarity with SCORM/xAPI standards
  • Ability to work closely with subject matter experts in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong communication skills to extract knowledge and turn it into clear learning
  • Comfortable challenging and shaping vague or incomplete requirements
  • Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or operational environments
  • Understanding of compliance, safety, and process-driven training needs
