As our teams grow, we seek our next L&D & Apprenticeship Lead to join our team. Every day is different at The Bread Factory, but here are some of the things you will be doing: Skills & Competency Development Identify future capability needs and design solutions to close skills gaps. Lead our apprenticeship programmes to ensure alignment with both operations and external standards. Design structured training pathways for every role – from bakery floor to leadership. Drive the creation and implementation of a skills matrix across departments. Leadership & Team Development Deliver learning experiences for first-line and mid-level leaders around people management, coaching, and performance. Support succession planning and nurture emerging talent. Embed consistent leadership behaviours that reflect our values. Learning Design & Delivery Create engaging, practical training content in collaboration with our operational experts. Deliver a mix of on-the-job, classroom, and digital learning. Monitor and improve training effectiveness through feedback and evaluation. Digital Learning & Innovation Champion digital learning tools (e.g. microlearning, mobile, video) to support flexible training. Oversee our learning platform (LMS or equivalent) and ensure it meets user needs. Compliance, Team Management & Projects Lead our compliance and training team to deliver high-quality, legally compliant learning. Deliver key company-wide training and regulatory learning programmes. Manage L&D projects that align with our strategic priorities. Collaboration & Culture Partner with Production, Operations, Technical, and People teams to align learning with performance needs. Foster a strong learning culture where development is embedded in everyday work. Support and coach team leaders to own training in their areas. Lead community-based learning initiatives that go beyond the workplace. Our team tells us you will be a great addition if you have experience in: A strong background in L&D, ideally in food production, manufacturing, or a fast-paced operational setting. Proven ability to build impactful learning strategies and deliver measurable capability growth. Experience delivering leadership training and managing apprenticeship and compliance programmes. Creative learning designer and engaging facilitator. Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills. Confident with digital learning platforms and tools. Organised, proactive, and passionate about helping people thrive. Collaborative and visible – comfortable working closely with factory teams. Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
