The Bread Factory - Bakery Apprenticeship (Level 2)
This is more than an apprenticeship — it’s your first step into a lifelong career in artisan baking. Whether you're just starting out or ready for a fresh beginning, Growing Bakers is open to people of all ages and backgrounds who share our passion for quality, craftsmanship, and care.

What we’re looking for:
You don’t need experience — just a love for food, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. Our bakeries are fast-paced and hands-on, so bring your energy and be ready to roll up your sleeves!
What you’ll learn:
- The ins and outs of artisan baking at scale
- How to use professional bakery equipment safely
- Ingredient sourcing, packaging, and customer delivery
- The product development process
- Food safety, supply management, and quality standards
How the programme works:
- 42.5 hours/week, 5 days out of 7 (including weekends)
- A mix of on-the-job training and off-site workshops
- Monthly travel to Plumpton College
- Regular check-ins with your manager and tutor
- Support with Maths and English qualifications if needed
Qualifications you'll earn:
- Level 2 Certificate in Baking Industry Skills
- Apprenticeship Certificate
- Functional Skills in Maths & English (if applicable)
