The Bread Factory is London’s leading Artisan Bakery, known for award‑winning breads, pastries, and cakes, supplying top‑quality products across e‑commerce, grocery, foodservices, and retailers such as our GAIL’s Bakeries nationwide. As our teams grow, we seek our next Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team.

Every day is different at The Bread Factory, but here are some of the things you will be doing:

  • Ensure that the equipment and plant are maintained.
  • React to breakdowns quickly and efficiently.
  • PLC fault finding to input and output level.
  • Remedy issues highlighted by our in‑house HAACP audits.
  • Respond to out‑of‑hours calls for breakdowns.

Our team tells us you will be a great addition if you…

  • Are a logical thinker with a proactive approach to resolving issues and faults.
  • Electrically and mechanically skilled, an engineering‑based NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification (C&G 2330 or similar).
  • Qualified to (or be prepared to qualify to) Electrical Installations BS7671: th Edition and upgrade as new Editions are released.
  • Preferably holding an HNC (Level 4) or equivalent qualification in an electrical/mechanical engineering discipline and previous control/instrumentation experience would be highly desirable.
  • Understand OEE and equipment performance metrics.
  • Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to record planned maintenance and reactive tasks.
  • Experience with bakery machinery.
  • Have HAACP awareness.
  • Troubleshooting on electrical equipment is a must.

Shift Times: 6 am- 6 pm & 6 pm-6 am: 2 days Day shift and 2 days Night shift on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
