We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Wine Waiter to join our team. As a Wine Waiter, you will play a key role in ensuring that our guests enjoy an exceptional dining experience, with a particular focus on delivering high-quality wine service. You will assist the Head Sommelier in managing the wine stock, providing knowledgeable and attentive service, and supporting the overall beverage operations of the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:- Wine Stock Management: Assist in the delivery, organization, and management of wine stock, ensuring that inventory levels are maintained and recorded accurately. Support the Head Sommelier in monitoring stock rotation and the safe storage of wines. Assist in monthly stock takes and help with ordering when necessary.
- Restaurant Service: Provide attentive and professional wine service to guests, including recommendations, pouring, and explaining wine selections. Work closely with the service team to ensure that wine is served at the correct temperature and in appropriate glassware. Maintain a clean and organized wine service area, including polishing glassware and restocking wine stations.
- Assisting the Sommelier: Assist the Head Sommelier with any requests, including preparing wine for service, setting up for wine tastings, and participating in staff training sessions. Stay informed about the wine list, including new additions and seasonal changes, to provide accurate information to guests. Support the Head Sommelier in delivering wine pairings and special wine events.
- Previous experience in a similar role within a high-quality restaurant environment.
- A strong passion for wine, with basic knowledge of wine varieties, regions, and pairings.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and develop wine knowledge and service skills.
- A team player with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
