Summary Of Role
As the Digital Trading manager, you will be responsible for driving the near to long-term online merchandising strategy. The role requires you to have a comprehensive understanding of the ecommerce marketplace and industry best practices. The position is responsible for helping to optimise the website across all devices, influencing the end-to-end customer journey increasing conversion and driving sales.
The role will be highly collaborative, with key stakeholders including, Chief Trading officer, Head of Trade, trade marketing, content & visual teams, buying, merchandising, as well as technology and analytics.
Skills And Experience Required
We require someone to hit the ground running in this role and so experience in a large scale online retailer with knowledge and experience of best-in-class practices. To enable you to strategically drive site optimisation including vast experience with large volume of traffic and large customer base is a must.
You will have strong ecommerce experiences, with a good commercial understanding and an analytical skillset to drive key business decisions. We are looking for someone who is highly entrepreneurial and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, where being agile is key, and has experience with the Algolia system.
The Details of the Role
- Work in collaboration with Head of Trade to build an onsite strategy for BrandAlley.
- Leading by example, owning and managing Digital Trading activities; analyse site performance, customer behaviour and competitor trends to drive insights and trading actions.
- Accountable onsite navigation and customer journey, as well collaborating on getting the best content for the market. Adopting a test and learn approach to ensure the site is optimised to customer segments.
- Responsible for the management of the browse journey, working with numerous stakeholders including in Trade and Tech, to configure and develop systems and capabilities.
- Continuous improvement of onsite rules and rankings, working with Head of Trade to understand and implement site changes in response to market performance.
- Oversees the site standards and ensures the customer journey is as seamless as possible across all onsite touch points.
- Detailed technical proficiency across all systems in the Digital Trading space, in particular Algolia, working to maximise areas of opportunity and working with Head Of Trade to determine requirements for technical roadmap.
- Working cross functionally with multiple teams including, Marketing, Buying, Merchandising and Technology, to continuously drive the brand forward. A key focus on working collaboratively with Trade Marketing, Content and Regional Trading Manager for their specific market.
- As part of this remit will be building capabilities of new team.
- Improve on our technical capabilities by working with stakeholders to understand and maximise and develop the use of tools and systems, testing new features and upgrades.
- Experienced CMS user and uses technical expertise to manage technical backlog to drive system and tool develop and supports DCL with the diving the DC roadmap forwards.
- Manages and owns the roll out and validation of new features & system upgrades.
- Understand previous campaigns and consider market trading moments to appreciate the performance of each piece of activity and based on this, make recommendations as to how to build on the results for the next iteration.
- Leads analysis across platforms, able to pull and interpret in-depth analysis, using data to suggest and implement improvements to the customer journey
- Support the Head of Trade in developing and evaluating a test and learn strategy, across PLP, Navigation and Search; feeding all insights gained from regular reporting back.
- Promotes a detailed test and learn approach, implementing optimisation strategies to improve the browse journey; PLP, Nav, Search.
