We are looking for a Senior Assistant Buyer to join our Accessories and Footwear team based in our London office. Experience within this area is ideal but not essential. A passion for product and customer is a must and an eagerness to learn within a fast-paced environment.
What will you be doing? Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Buyer to achieve individual financials including sales, margin, and profit.
- Secure the best prices through effective negotiation, ensuring our offers remain highly competitive throughout the sales period.
- Manage suppliers and ownership of sales on a weekly basis.
- Continuously source new brands, ensuring we have the best product and offers whilst making speedy and commercial decisions.
- Execute daily sales in line with monthly targets offering a balanced range with sales targeted at the customer.
- Develop and review a monthly strategy with the Buyer to meet business targets, adjusting as needed.
- Work with support functions and provide all sale collateral within the guidelines of the critical path.
- Ensure critical path deadlines are met and the wider teams are not jeopardised.
- Understand competition, brands and keep up to date information on competitive sales to assure we are offering the best sale within the time the sales are live. Regularly review online competition and share innovative ideas.
- Utilize market knowledge to negotiate the best value for BrandAlley customers, while delivering a high sell through for the brand.
- Attend weekly trade meetings to analyse and establish current performance in order to deliver an action plan to ensure sales targets are met.
- Collaborate with marketing and production to ensure all sales are traded and have the marketing support to overachieve.
- Attend brand meetings with Buyer to create understanding of high value negotiations and sale planning.
Team Development and Support:
- Responsible for developing the BAA’s within the Department – through coaching, training, and developing with regular reviews and constructive feedback.
- Conduct performance reviews twice a year, setting objectives and goals for team members.
- Understand the roles of other departments and provide necessary support and information for effective cross-departmental collaboration.
- Act as a consistent ambassador for BrandAlley, cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers.

- You’re highly organised, self-motivated and have a flexible approach to managing high workload along with ad hoc tasks.
- You have strong analytical skills and a good knowledge of Excel.
- Experience using Mirakl or a similar Marketplace platform would be beneficial.
