We are adding an Auto Body Technician to our team.

Job Description

The Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle, restoring it to pre-accident condition. The technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles each vehicle while playing a pivotal role in our promise of speed, quality, and customer excellence. The technician works in alignment with all team members to achieve the facility’s KPIs and serves as a dedicated Brand Ambassador of The Boyd Group at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan consistently.
  • Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
  • Use cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
  • Repair dents, dimples, and minor body damage; apply filler resins when other methods are not feasible.
  • Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
  • Remove damaged sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts; repair glass and windshields as needed.
  • Replace or repair interior parts as needed.
  • Weld and attach parts, prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or agreed-upon equivalent.
  • Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines; inspect vehicles after repair to ensure correct execution.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Read job orders and work with very little supervision.
  • Work with other repairers within an auto body shop.
  • Understand methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
  • Understand how to use tools required for the trade.

Other Requirements

  • Lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
