About The Job

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Horticultural Assistant to join our team.

A keen interest in horticulture, accompanied by a sound knowledge of horticultural principles and a passion for plants, their display and upkeep is essential.

Reporting to our Outdoor Services Manager, this is a varied role, vital to the daily operation of the garden centre and its 3 acre nursery in house.

Key Duties

· Working as part of our Horticultural team to assist in stocking the retail area, undertaking plant care and watering duties

· Assisting with inward deliveries, including accepting deliveries and distribution to relevant departments

· Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation at all times

· Operating a till as and when necessary

· Assisting customers in a polite, knowledgeable and welcoming manner

· Duties may include some assistance within other departments

About You

· Friendly, honest, reliable and flexible

· Must be able to work independently and as part of a large team

· Ability to work weekends on a rota basis is essential

· Excellent customer service skills

· Physically fit as lifting and manual work form a large part of this role
