Overview
In this role you will define and govern BCG’s IT strategy, creating sub-strategies across a broad range of topics to guide digital and technology direction. You will collaborate with senior IT and business leaders to set ambition, approach, and roadmap for core tech topics and strategic initiatives. You’ll translate complex questions into clear problem statements and actionable plans, backed by data, to shape BCG’s digital capabilities. Expect cross‑functional collaboration, high‑impact storytelling, and executive-level communications as you drive the IT strategy over the next 3+ years.
Responsibilities
- Define, maintain, and govern the overall IT strategy and sub-strategies across topics
- Collaborate with CIO, CTO, CISO, Head of Architecture and cross-functional partners to set ambition and path forward
- Work with Technology Practice and other areas to enhance internal strategy and go-to-market approach
- Solve complex, ambiguous questions with senior business and IT leaders and translate into actionable plans
- Develop high-quality presentations and materials for executive audiences (C‑Suite) and drive decisions through to delivery
- Lead planning for the annual cycle, prioritizing initiatives, funding, and resources to align with strategy
- Rally the organization to move from strategy to delivery working with delivery teams
- Prepare materials for, and present at, senior levels including C‑Suite
- Demonstrate strategic thinking, adaptability, and ability to influence across a matrixed organization
- Balance technology, business needs, talent, and cost to guide IT strategy direction
Key requirements
- 12+ years in IT or digital roles with a strong emphasis on strategy
- Experience in a matrixed organization with minimal supervision
- Proven track record of setting strategy on topics in complex organizations and turning it into action
- Strong storytelling and PowerPoint skills to create compelling arguments for senior stakeholders
- Ability to present to C‑Suite and secure buy-in across levels
- Consulting background or consulting-like qualifications with stakeholder engagement
