What You'll Do

BCG Unlocking Potential (UP) is our commitment to helping BCGers thrive. It shapes the context and offers the tools for individuals to be at their best, sustainably, in our high‑performance environment. UP brings together our efforts in diversity, inclusion, wellbeing—including mental health and flex—into one cohesive strategy. As Global Unlocking Potential – Wellbeing Director, you will own and drive BCG’s firmwide wellbeing agenda. Reporting to the Global Senior Director of Unlocking Potential and working closely with People Strategy & Transformation leadership, you are accountable for defining BCG’s worldwide platform around supporting employee wellbeing—and for building the strategy, team, platforms, and cross‑functional coalitions to deliver our aspirations. Grounded in the belief that wellbeing and performance are mutually reinforcing, you will help shape an environment where our people can thrive sustainably while delivering at their best. This is a leadership position that requires you to set direction, inspire the organization, and steer how BCG invests in the wellbeing of its people globally.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and own BCG’s global wellbeing vision, encompassing mental health, flex, and holistic employee wellbeing, ensuring it is bold, distinctive, and integrated into BCG’s broader talent and people strategy.
  • Set the strategic agenda and multi‑year roadmap for global wellbeing, translating the vision into priorities and measurable outcomes that demonstrate impact at scale.
  • Help shape a holistic Unlocking Potential agenda in collaboration with the Global Senior Director and UP leadership, identifying transversal opportunities that connect wellbeing to the broader UP mission.
  • Design and establish the successful framework for wellbeing at BCG in collaboration with regional UP and business leaders, defining both qualitative and quantitative indicators of impact.
  • Inspire and mobilize the organization around a shared wellbeing ambition, building alignment and momentum within People leadership, geographic teams, and senior stakeholders firm‑wide.
  • Lead and develop a high‑performing team, including direct reports across multiple geographies and time zones, creating a culture of excellence, innovation, and care.
  • Oversee end‑to‑end delivery of the global wellbeing program portfolio, ensuring initiatives are executed with quality, coherence, and lasting, measurable impact.
  • Partner with regional and local UP leads to determine KPIs to ensure wellbeing strategies are embedded and have impact, including mental health minimum standards.
  • Drive strong cross‑functional alignment with key stakeholders across People and beyond, including Benefits, Teaming, L&D, Marketing & Comms, ensuring wellbeing is embedded across the full employee experience.
  • Leverage data, employee feedback, and external trends to continuously evolve BCG’s wellbeing strategy, anticipate emerging needs, and ensure BCG remains at the leading edge of employer wellbeing.
  • Represent BCG’s wellbeing strategy externally, partnering with UP Marketing & Comms to shape BCG’s wellbeing narrative with clients, candidates, and the broader market.

You're Good At:

  • Shaping and articulating a compelling strategic vision, and securing senior leadership buy‑in through effective influence.
  • Translating the strategy into a clear, actionable roadmap that galvanizes senior leaders and enables cross‑functional teams to align, take ownership, and deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Providing thought leadership in employee wellbeing, drawing on external perspectives, intellectual curiosity, and the confidence to challenge conventional approaches.
  • Building and sustaining senior executive relationships; influencing and aligning stakeholders at the most senior levels.
  • Leading through ambiguity and complexity, with strong judgement to know when to act and when to consult.
  • Developing and inspiring high‑performing teams across geographies, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and psychological safety.
  • Balancing the big picture with the operational detail, knowing when to go deep and when to delegate, and holding both the vision and the execution simultaneously.
  • Driving firm‑wide culture change, shifting mindsets, norms, and behaviors at scale.
  • Using data and insights to make the strategic case, track progress, and continuously sharpen BCG’s approach to wellbeing.
  • Championing AI‑assisted ways of working and modeling a digital‑first approach to how your team designs, delivers, and communicates wellbeing programs.

What You'll Bring:

  • 10+ years of professional experience, with significant depth in People/HR, employee wellbeing, organizational health, or a closely related field; experience with strategy consulting preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience owning and leading a strategic function or major portfolio at a global scale—setting direction, securing buy‑in, and delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Subject matter expertise in employee wellbeing, mental health and/or flexible working, with a strong command of the external landscape.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing high‑performing teams across multiple geographies and time zones.
  • Experience operating at senior levels of a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Strong strategic communications capability, including the ability to shape and deliver compelling narratives for firm‑wide and external audiences.
  • Data‑fluent, with experience using analytics and measurement frameworks to drive strategy, track impact, and build the business case for investment.
  • Genuine passion for creating environments where people can perform at their best, with a personal commitment to inclusive and equitable wellbeing practices.
  • Familiarity with AI‑assisted tools and an appetite for embedding new ways of working across teams and programs.
  • Experience working across cultures and geographies; high cultural intelligence and adaptability.

Who You'll Work With:

  • The Global Senior Director of Unlocking Potential and People Strategy & Transformation leadership, as your direct reporting line and strategic partner in shaping BCG’s wellbeing agenda.
  • Your direct reports and global wellbeing team across multiple geographies, leading with clarity, care, and high expectations.
  • Regional UP leads worldwide, as the primary architect of the global wellbeing framework they execute and adapt locally.
  • Cross‑functional People stakeholders including Benefits, Teaming, L&D, and People Analytics, ensuring wellbeing is integrated and mutually reinforcing across the full talent model.
  • Non‑People functions including Marketing & Comms, where wellbeing strategy intersects with external positioning.
  • External partners, vendors, and thought leaders in the wellbeing and mental health space, ensuring BCG’s approach remains innovative, evidence‑based, and best‑in‑class.
  • Clients and candidates, in partnership with UP Marketing & Comms, representing BCG’s wellbeing value proposition as a differentiator in the talent market.
