As a Practice Area (PA) People Senior Manager within BCG\\\’s Insurance Practice Area, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping and executing the global PA people strategy to support our business growth. Partnering closely with the Global PA Senior Manager and the Insurance Global People Leader, you will drive initiatives that strengthen capability building, engagement, DE&I, and career development across all cohorts within the Insurance PA.
You will work across regions and BCG functions, including Learning & Development (L&D), Recruiting, Finance, and HR, to ensure that the PA people priorities are aligned with business needs and that our teams have the capabilities and culture needed to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Capability Development & Growth Enablement
- Lead the capability scale-up agenda for all Insurance cohorts (A/C to MDP, Experts, and Senior Advisors).
- Partner with PA and Regional Leadership to define strategic upskilling priorities in alignment with business objectives.
- Co-create modular learning pathways and collaborate with Global L&D on curriculum design and delivery.
- Conduct skills gap and demand analysis to ensure talent readiness for evolving market and client needs.
- Continuously measure learning effectiveness and adjust programs to drive impact.
Culture, Engagement, and DE&I
- Design and implement creative initiatives to enhance PA culture, affiliation, and belonging.
- Lead DE&I programs that promote inclusion, representation, and equitable opportunities within the PA.
- Partner with marketing and communications to strengthen the PA\\\’s internal brand and attract top talent.
- Oversee engagement forums, community events, and recognition programs that foster team spirit and collaboration.
- Champion the \”Voice of the PA\” through engagement surveys and targeted action planning.
People Analytics & Strategic Reporting
- Develop and manage people dashboards and metrics (e.g., headcount, retention, engagement, promotions).
- Lead data-driven insights on people-related trends to inform decision-making by the PA leadership.
- Analyze People Survey results, identify themes, and coordinate action plans to address improvement areas.
- Drive automation and consistency in reporting using Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent tools.
Cross-Functional & Regional Collaboration
- Act as a bridge between global and regional People teams, ensuring consistent implementation of programs across geographies.
- Collaborate closely with Recruiting, Finance, and L&D to ensure alignment on capability needs and workforce planning.
- Facilitate best practice sharing across regions and maintain a global \”People Playbook\” for the Insurance PA.
- Partner with Expert Career Track (ECT) and Senior Advisor groups to enhance their engagement and visibility.
Alumni & External Engagement
- Develop and execute the Insurance PA Alumni Strategy, including events, communications, and networking opportunities.
- Partner with Local and Client Teams to facilitate alumni placements, collaborations, and knowledge sharing.
- Maintain and leverage an alumni database to strengthen connectivity and reputation externally.
What You\\\’ll Bring
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in People, HR, Learning & Development, or Practice Area operations—preferably in a professional services environment.
- A Master\\\’s degree in Business, HR, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Demonstrated success in capability development, talent strategy, or people analytics.
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook; familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) a plus.
- High integrity, discretion, and business acumen, with the ability to handle sensitive information.
