We are currently recruiting for a Paralegal – Trademark & IP to support our growing Intellectual Property practice within BCG’s Legal Team. This newly created dedicated role brings together responsibilities that were previously managed on a part‑time basis alongside other roles. As a member of the Legal Team, you will collaborate across BCG teams and functions to strengthen our trademark and intellectual property operations, drive operational excellence, and help implement new and more effective ways of working. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to shape the direction of the trademark practice for BCG now and into the future.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with BCG’s external counsel and internal commercial stakeholders on all aspects of BCG’s trademark portfolio and related activities.
- Provide practical, business‑oriented trademark advice, including distinctiveness assessments and strategic guidance on brand protection.
- Support external counsel with the filing of new trademark applications and manage/oversee the full lifecycle of applications, including prosecution, opposition, grant, and renewals ensuring timely and efficient execution.
- Coordinate with the business to ensure compliance with all formalities requirements and statutory deadlines, coordinating effectively with internal teams and external advisors.
- Manage and maintain BCG’s trademark portfolio and filing program in collaboration with external counsel, internal legal colleagues, and commercial teams.
- Support the protection of BCG’s trademark rights by helping to manage the trademark disputes and litigation portfolio in partnership with the IP and Litigation teams.
- Conduct preliminary trademark clearance and freedom‑to‑operate searches using publicly available databases, and delivering clear risk assessments to enable informed business decisions.
- Where appropriate, file UK trademark applications to establish early priority rights.
- Provide initial, policy‑aligned guidance on domain name queries and related matters.
- Provide help and assistance on other IP or legal tasks from time to time.
About You

What You’ll Bring
- Minimum of 4‑6 years of experience as a paralegal, including substantial work in trademarks and IP.
- Qualification from CITMA, preferably the Trademark Paralegal Qualification, Patent Paralegal Qualification and/or IP Administrator certificate.
- Experience working with in‑house legal teams and legal operations.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Flexibility and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- A willingness to work on a variety of topics and issues, both within and outside your defined mandate.
- English fluency.
Who You’ll Work With
You’ll collaborate with various members of the IP team, disputes legal team, product marketing team as well as cross‑functional legal and IT stakeholders.
