Who We Are
Boston Consulting Group partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most important challenges and capture their greatest opportunities. BCG was the pioneer in business strategy when it was founded in 1963. Today, we help clients with total transformation‑inspiring complex change, enabling organizations to grow, building competitive advantage, and driving bottom‑line impact. To succeed, organizations must blend digital and human capabilities. Our diverse, global teams bring deep industry and functional expertise and a range of perspectives to spark change. BCG delivers solutions through leading‑edge management consulting along with technology and design, corporate and digital ventures—and business purpose. We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive.
What You’ll Do
To be the best partner in driving lasting change for our clients, BCG continuously invests in, develops, and partners with specialty businesses to deepen expertise, broaden capabilities, and deliver differentiated impact. The most senior leaders in these businesses are Managing Directors (MDs). To support their success and the continued growth of our specialty businesses, BCG is seeking a highly capable professional to lead the MD Framework (compensation, incentives, expectations, career path) and Operations agenda. This role will own the MD framework end to end, with primary responsibility for the evolution of the MD model based on a deep understanding of business strategy, objectives, and outcomes—and translating those into clear expectations, incentives, and operating mechanisms.
Today, we support a diverse and growing set of businesses including Platinion, Inverto, BrightHouse, Expand, BCG U, and Quantis. As these businesses continue to scale and diversify, a key priority will be to design scalable, flexible, and efficient operations that can support businesses at different stages of maturity. As a core member of the Global team, the Director will partner closely with our colleagues within Global Rewards and key stakeholders in PAs and business leaders, bringing a strong business partnership mindset and demonstrated experience shaping and evolving senior talent strategies. This role will work very closely with MD Executive Talent Senior HR BPs who oversee the talent life cycle of MDs (lateral hiring, onboarding, upslot, promotions, career path changes, compensation and graduation).

- Contribute to the planning and prioritization of strategic initiatives and investments, ensuring alignment with firm and business‑unit objectives.
- Design, develop, and execute pilots to test new ideas, processes, and tools; assess outcomes and insights to inform iteration prior to broader rollout and commitment.
Own and Evolve the Managing Director (MD) Framework
- Own the design, governance, and enterprise‑wide rollout of the MD model across all SBUs. MD model includes compensation, incentives, expectations and career path.
- Own the continuous evolution of the MD model, ensuring philosophical consistency, transparency, and alignment with business strategy while driving ongoing improvement.
- Develop a deep understanding of business objectives and SBU priorities, translating desired outcomes into the required behaviors, focus areas, and performance expectations for MDs.
- Design, model, and evaluate compensation and performance scenarios to enable informed decision‑making and strategic trade‑offs.
- Translate enterprise and business‑unit strategies into clear, individual‑level commercial and performance expectations for MDs.
- Analyze business and financial performance to inform compensation outcomes, partnering closely with Finance teams.
- Synthesize and triangulate data from multiple sources, applying sound judgment in situations with incomplete or imperfect information.
Evolve the MD Employee Value Proposition (EVP)
- Further develop the MD EVP beyond compensation and benefits, incorporating meaningful recognition of accomplishments, promotions, and key milestones.
- Design creative, scalable, and differentiated approaches to recognition that reinforce desired behaviors and strengthen engagement and retention.
Run Back‑End MD HR Operations
- Design and optimize back‑end operational processes to ensure efficient, scalable MD HR operations.
- Support end‑to‑end MD lifecycle processes, including contracting, onboarding, annual talent cycles, and compensation processes (e.g., target setting, performance measurement).
- Partner closely with Global Rewards, BI&A, and the Projects Senior Manager to identify technology needs, assess solutions, and support implementation.
- Lead and develop a small team (currently one CS3) providing operational support to HR Business Partners.
