In today’s rapidly evolving AI landscape, the ability to design learning experiences that leverage the potential of (Gen)AI is more essential than ever. As a Global Learning Experience Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing how BCG designs and delivers impactful, AI-enabled learning—applying cutting-edge tools and techniques to elevate personalization, scalability, and effectiveness.
You’ll apply AI tools and techniques to develop innovative learning solutions, automate design workflows, and prototype intelligent agents that personalize, scale, and streamline our learning offerings. Acting as a critical bridge between the L&D function and AI/product teams, you\’ll translate learner needs and business goals into practical, AI-driven applications that elevate learning effectiveness and operational efficiency.
In this role, you’ll lead the design and delivery of BCG’s cohort-based learning journeys and firm-wide campaigns—crafting holistic, integrated experiences that include live, virtual live, on-demand content, and performance support tools. Your responsibilities will span content curation and creation, assessment design, prompt writing, and AI workflow prototyping. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, product designers, data analysts, and fellow learning designers to uncover insights, test hypotheses, and co-develop AI-enhanced solutions that drive measurable learning and business outcomes. You’ll also work with external vendors and end users to ensure the seamless implementation and adoption of these solutions across the firm.
YOU’RE GOOD AT
AI application and innovation
- Designing and building custom GPT agents using platforms like OpenAI’s GPTs or API, including prompt engineering, file and API integration, and instruction fine-tuning for specific learning contexts
- Understanding AI and LLM fundamentals (e.g., model behavior, token limits, embeddings, prompt memory, retrieval augmentation) to guide responsible and effective use
- Creating reusable prompt templates, agent personas, and workflows for learning use cases, optimizing for clarity, inclusivity, and performance
- Partnering with engineers and product teams to translate learner needs, business goals, and L&D use cases into actionable inputs and rapidly iterate on scalable, personalized AI-powered learning solutions—from concept to minimal viable product
- Adopting AI tools early and staying curious about emerging trends, exploring their potential to enhance learning design and strengthen internal AI practices
Learning design
- Championing the learner throughout, always asking what supports their growth, performance and motivation
- Conducting user research and audience analysis to develop learner centric solutions
- Partnering with training teams, SMEs, other internal stakeholders to assess training needs and design learning activities by selecting the most appropriate process, structure, technology, and delivery formats depending on learning goals
- Translating business goals into precise, modular and actionable learning objectives
- Designing learning and supporting development of engaging and immersive, multi modal learning, including but not limited to live classroom, virtual live, on-demand/microlearning, interactive multimedia, learning in the workflow, etc.
- Reviewing and curating content based on user and learning needs
- Partnering with vendors to drive them to an outcome and ensure the solutions meet the needs of the learners
- Prototyping ideas and conducting proof-of-concepts to gather timely feedback from stakeholders and end-users, refining learning solutions that deliver targeted outcomes
- Analyzing content performance and learning impact through dashboards, feedback, and usage metrics to drive continuous improvement of the learning experience
Stakeholder management
- Working successfully within a complex matrixed structured organization to manage relationships and align learning solutions with project teams; experience doing so virtually is strongly preferred
- Convincing and driving alignment between stakeholders with your confident and competent demeanor
- Explaining learning experience design best practices and rationale to stakeholders
Project management
- Working with stakeholders to define goals and scope, and designing effective training solutions aligned with BCG\’s objectives
- Thriving in ambiguity and approaching open-end problems with curiosity, creativity and system-thinking to drive progress
- Managing and communicating timelines and deliverables with various stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-evolving environment; experience with agile and lean principles is preferred
- Performing independently as an independent contributor or within a team in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment
- Engaging and partnering with vendors and EdTech companies if needed
What You\’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, human-computer interaction (HCI), computational linguistics, computer science, cognitive science, education, instructional design, learning science, or digital technology
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in learning experience design, with a focus on applying AI to develop innovative solutions (e.g., AI tutors, chatbots, virtual coaches, and AI-enabled learning solutions) to enhance personalization, automation, and content creation
- Proficient in using (gen)AI tools and platforms (e.g., ChatGPT) to design AI-enabled learning solutions that provide timely, contextual support at key moments of need—seamlessly integrated into daily workflows
- Experience working with technical teams, including engineers and product managers
- Experience with at least one leading Learning Experience Platform (LXP)
- Knowledge of Agile and user centric design principles
- Strong project management skills with the ability to think systemically while managing executional details effectively
- Experience working with remote international teams
- Excellent English language oral and written communication skills required
