The Borgen Project believes that leaders of the most powerful nations on earth should be doing more to address global poverty. The national campaign is working to make poverty a focus of U.S. and U.K. foreign policy.
Are you passionate about making a difference in the world? The Borgen Project is an international organisation that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine, and poverty. With 20 years of experience in advocacy, The Borgen Project has supported the passage of numerous bills benefiting close to 500 million people in developing countries.
Political Affairs ProgrammeThis role focuses on making poverty a focus of U.S., Canadian, and U.K. foreign policy. It is a part-time, 12-hours-per-week, 12-week unpaid remote programme. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the programme in fewer weeks.
Responsibilities include:- Leading public and political outreach in your state and district.
- Meeting with members of Congress/Government in your State/District/Constituency.
- Representing The Borgen Project at various business, political, and community events.
- Assisting with fundraising by creating a personal campaign and meeting targets.
- Mobilizing individuals to contact their government representatives in support of key poverty-reduction legislation.
- Speaking to groups, classes, and organizations.
- Writing letters of support for key programs to political leaders, media, and other groups.
No prior experience is necessary; we seek passionate individuals committed to fighting poverty and addressing injustices, regardless of GPA or background.
