As part of a small team, you will help develop the long-term strategy for Boots by supporting the business to build an understanding of the landscapes we face, looking at customers, suppliers, competitors and other stakeholders – and share this across the business. Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions you will work as an internal consultant for the business to identify and evaluate business opportunities in current and new business areas, covering both growth and efficiency, and develop plans to realise value from the opportunity. Some of the examples of recent project areas worked on by the team cover developing a long term strategy, creating a plan to drive growth in our pharmacy business, and setting a strategy and plan to drive customer value.
What you’ll need to have:
- Experience in a consulting environment
- Experience of working with business teams and independently to develop strategic solutions to complex problems
- Experience operating in cross functional teams, and providing thought leadership and rigour to their work
- Curiosity, and a desire to understand business problems and find deliverable solutions
- An analytic approach and mindset, and familiarity with relevant tools
- Ability to build good relationships at multiple levels across the business
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to summarise complex information for stakeholders
