About the role
The Data Manager role sits within the Opticians Data and Programmes Team working with and reporting to the Head of Data and Programmes. You will lead the Opticians Data Governance team with ownership of the following aspects of data within the Opticians business:
- Accountability for end to end set up and maintenance of Opticians Master Data
- Accountability for ensuring all Opticians data is compliant with all relevant legislation ensuring compliance and that all relevant issues are investigated and resolved. You act as SME for stakeholders & functions across the business to ensure all initiatives are fully data compliant.
- The product owner of the Opticians Data Hub (data lake) platform with responsibility for agreeing the prioritised development roadmap with senior business stakeholders, assigning budget & working closely with Boots IT and Data teams to deliver agreed developments.
What you\’ll need to have
- Adept at dealing with ambiguity and problem solving
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence to align stakeholders around a common agenda
- Demonstrates critical thinking and uses data to make informed decisions
- An effective team leader able to support and develop direct reports
- Strong communication skills; able to simplify complex topics enabling non-data experts to understand issues
- Advocate of continuous improvement ways of working with an ability to balance business and customer priorities
- Is comfortable working x-functionally with multiple stakeholders
