About the role: Our long-standing commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) spans more than 176 years and this commitment has shaped the way we deliver trusted healthcare and wellness to communities as a cornerstone of our strategy and impact. Our ESG Centre of Excellence team brings together many of our key ESG roles. This role is a central part of the team, focusing on the ESG data, systems, disclosures and related initiatives. Reporting to the Head of ESG, Strategy, Governance and Data, this role is instrumental in driving business results by designing the architecture and developing the tools, systems and processes required to collect, analyse and verify ESG data ensuring continued regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities:
- Implement a scalable ESG data system architecture, enabling seamless integration and governance of internal and external data sources with corporate systems.
- Address system dependencies and data quality challenges by developing clear quality assurance and validation processes for ESG metrics and disclosures.
- Translate ESG data insights into actionable recommendations to influence cross-functional stakeholders, including data owners and finance business partners.
- Collaborate with IT, compliance, sustainability and finance teams, and subject matter experts to maintain data integrity and ensure assurance/audit-ready ESG disclosures.
- Support and drive strategic ESG data-driven projects such as Double Materiality Assessments, Climate Scenario Analysis, and Carbon foot-printing across the company.
- Attend and represent the company at external meetings, conferences and seminars as needed.
What you’ll need to have:
- Strong communications skills, written and spoken.
- Strong interpersonal skills - persuasion and influencing others, using a range of approaches, to achieve deliverables and build strong relationships.
- Problem solving capabilities, ability to cut through complexity and provide effective solutions.
- Judgement to identify risks and opportunities.
- Leadership skills to drive projects and provide guidance on sensitive issues.
- Expertise in strategic thinking, long term planning and leveraging data insights to drive business results.
- Experience developing and delivering presentations to the most senior levels within the organisation.
- Team player.
- Bachelor's degree or professional certification.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience in using ESG Data platforms such as Sphera or equivalent.
- Experience in and knowledge of environmental, social, governance (ESG) industry issues and integration with business operations.
- Experience working with an ESG platform tool.
- Experience in retail, healthcare, sustainability or in a dynamic global corporate organisation.
