The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Reporting to the Department Manager, you will lead a team of warehouse colleagues within our Burton Service Centre Night Shift operation, ensuring you complete work safely, accurately, and on time. You will deliver operational performance while creating a positive and engaged team culture. You will lead colleagues and coach individuals to achieve their potential and ensure excellent service for our customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop a team of warehouse colleagues.
  • Delivering productivity, quality, attendance and service targets.
  • Coaching colleagues to maximise performance and capability.
  • Monitoring team performance and taking action to improve results.
  • Delivering team briefings and maintaining clear communication throughout the shift.
  • Supporting workflow and resource allocation across operational areas.
  • Maintaining shift handovers and operational updates.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, security and operational standards.
  • Working collaboratively with support departments to resolve operational issues.
  • Creating a positive, engaged and high-performing team culture.

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off
Hours: 22:00 – 10:00 (12-hour shifts)

What you’ll need to have (our must‑haves)

  • Previous experience leading teams within a warehouse, logistics or operational environment.
  • Strong communication and people leadership skills.
  • Ability to motivate others.
  • Good problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Experience working to operational KPIs and service targets.
  • Focus on safety, quality and customer service.
  • Ability to remain calm and organised in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Basic IT skills and confidence using operational systems and reporting tools.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of challenges.

It would be great if you also have

  • Experience within an automated distribution environment.
  • Previous experience in warehouse, outbound, despatch or e‑commerce operations.
  • Experience managing agency colleagues.
  • Knowledge of performance management and attendance processes.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement activities.
  • Experience developing colleagues and supporting their progression into leadership roles.
