This position is for a Project Engineer to work within the Boeing Defence United Kingdom Engineering function, supporting the Vertical Lift (VL) Business Unit. This position is based in AAC Middle Wallop. Some UK travel between Boeing and MoD Customer sites is expected.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide Engineering coordination and leadership to multi-disciplined Engineering functions associated with the management of Apache Phase Maintenance activities.
- Coordinate the execution of Engineering support to Apache Phase Maintenance, completing Engineering Statements of Work (SOWs) to quality, schedule and budget, and ensuring leadership interfaces are aware of programme milestones, objectives and performance status using suitable metrics.
- Plan, identify, and coordinate Engineering resources required over the life of the Phase Maintenance programme SOW.
- Compare actual results to the baseline Apache Phase Maintenance execution plan(s), assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned.
- Manage Engineering Risks, Issues and Opportunities (RIOs) associated with Apache Phase Maintenance, defining and executing the required plans for RIO mitigation and reporting RIO status at programme and functional RIO boards.
- Maintain Apache Phase Maintenance Engineering SOWs, managing any scope change impacts to programme baselines (such as deliverables, resources, cost or schedule) are coordinated through applicable Change Control Boards (CCBs).
- Provide technical, business and integration leadership with adjacent peer groups for the development and execution of overall Apache Phase Maintenance project and/or IPT plans.
- Champion and lead Engineering Continuous Improvement effort across Apache Phase Maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- United Kingdom Security Clearance.
- A Degree level (or equivalent) qualification in an engineering related field, ideally in Aerospace Engineering.
- 9 or more years of experience supporting military aircraft sustainment services from an engineering perspective.
- Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills, leading teams, managing conflict and fostering a positive, collaborative working culture.
Preferred Skills / Experience
- Demonstrable ability managing project planning and execution activities from a quality, cost and schedule perspective.
- Knowledge of UK Military Aviation Authority (MAA) Regulatory Publications relating to sign Design Approved Organization Scheme (DAOS), Maintenance Approved Organisation Scheme (MAOS) and Contractor Flying Approved Organizations Scheme (CFAOS) would be advantageous.
- Specific experience of military aircraft maintenance environments would be advantageous.
