Boeing Defence UK Limited (BDUK) is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 2000 people in the UK. BDUK is responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK Defence customers including E-7 AEW&C, P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, C4ISTAR Services, Through Life Support for the Chinook and Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services, and Training Services.
The Operations Tool Store Lead role is designed to provide direct control and supervision of tools and aircraft equipment required during Aircraft Maintenance, Major Repairs and Modification work of aircraft transferred to Boeing. Reporting to and accountable to the Maintenance Support Manager; their line manager.
The Operations Tool Stores Lead is responsible for maintaining compliant tool stores across Operations. Responsibilities include:
- Reporting all events/occurrences/near misses, in line with BDUK QA, SMS and EH&S reporting requirements, through an open and just culture.
- Managing and issuing tools and associated support equipment to the workforce undertaking Aircraft Maintenance, Major Repairs and Modification work.
- Administering/delivering/monitoring/updating the approved Tooling Accounting Tool (Cribmaster) and equipment calibration records in support of maintenance and modification activity.
- Monitoring and sustaining First Time Quality, productivity and cost savings.
- Ensuring tool control and compliance.
- Maintaining a FOD free workspace.
- Supervising operatives and general hand.
- Coordinating calibration, GFE and tool loans.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- The ability to apply both technical knowledge and human factors (HF) knowledge, with regard to assessing the requirements against the individual tasks being undertaken.
- A good communicator, with a demonstrable ability to communicate the technical work requirements to others.
- Possesses knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles (RA), MAA Regulatory Publication (MRP) Part 145, BDUK Part 145 MOE, aviation Quality Assurance (QA) and Safety Management System (SMS) and application of these requirements within their area of accountability, responsibility and authority.
- Capable of working and communicating with management levels, cross functional areas and the customer effectively.
- Experienced in sequencing and controlling demanding workloads, on time, to budget and to the required standard.

This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance for which the Government requires UK Citizenship. The successful candidate will hold, or have the ability to acquire, Security Clearance (SC).
This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
