The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Test Lead to join our dynamic team in Digital Services and Analytics (DS&A) and drive our automation testing efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual and automation testing using Selenium, proficient programming skills in Java, and experience with cloud technologies and DevOps practices. This role requires leadership capabilities to guide a team of testers and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.
Please note: this role is subject to successful Contract Award.
This is an on-site based role, with flexibility for occasional remote working at the discretion of the management team.
Primary Responsibilities
As part of your role, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Leading the design, development, and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on project requirements and design specifications
- Developing and implementing test automation strategies and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers, to define testing requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Mentoring and training team members on automation testing best practices, tools, and methodologies.
- Integrating automated testing into CI / CD pipelines using DevOps tools and practices.
- Monitoring and reporting on testing progress, defect metrics, and overall quality assurance status.
- Continuously evaluating and improving testing processes, tools, and methodologies to align with industry best practices.
- Staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in automation testing, cloud computing, and DevOps.

Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in software testing, with a focus on automation testing.
- Strong expertise in Selenium and Java programming.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Proficiency in DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of testing frameworks and tools (e.g., TestNG, JUnit).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable Experience
- Proficiency in Test Automation tools like Selenium Webdriver, SmartBear Test complete, GitLab, IntelliJ, and TestNG Framework.
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
- Knowledge of API testing and tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured).
- Familiarity with Test Management tools like Microfocus ALM.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices.
