We are looking for a Deputy Chief Pilot, Flight Technical and Safety to join our team in Crawley, United Kingdom; Dublin, Ireland; Rome, Italy; Madrid, Spain; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Munich, Germany; Neu-Isenburg, Germany or Hamburg, Germany. As a Deputy Chief Pilot, Flight Technical and Safety you will have the opportunity to work with professionals from across the industry and positively affect safety and operations of Boeing flight operations and that of our customers, world-wide. You will interact with pilots, managers, regulators, executives, peers, supporting team personnel, and Subject Matter Experts. This is a high visibility position in Flight Technical & Safety – part of Global Engagement & Training. This role will require strong communication skills, with the ability to interact across functions and levels.
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Position Responsibilities
- Operates and manages pilots of Boeing aircraft; applies crew resource management principles to the operation of aircraft.
- Provides and manages employees providing technical consultation, aircrew instruction, technical documentation and support related to flight operations, flight safety and accident investigations.
- Leads Flight Operations coordination with regulatory agencies.
- Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
- Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
- Manages, develops, trains and evaluates pilots and procedure coordinators.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
- FAA ATP or foreign equivalent certificate with the appropriate endorsements.
- Current Boeing type rating.
- Minimum 5000 flight hours.
- Experience flying transport category aircraft.
- Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Current FAA Class II medical certificate or international equivalent.
- Aircrew Safety training experience.
- Experience creating and revising procedures and checklists also highly desired.
- Instructor or check pilot or FAR 121 line experience on Boeing aircraft highly desired.
- Management experience.
Work Authorization
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Ireland, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, UK and Germany. Candidates must have current legal authorization to work immediately in the respective country. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labor sponsorship for any applicants. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
