The opportunity

We are seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Avionics to join our Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) Services team, supporting Modification and Depot Maintenance for the P-8A Poseidon Program at Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Edinburgh, South Australia. As a Boeing Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining / modifying aircraft systems and performing depot servicing requirements. This will include undertaking aircraft maintenance activities in support of Product Support Training & Maintenance (PST&M) - MRO Services Capability. Tasking may include system modification, manufacture and/or assembly activities for aircraft and aircraft component maintenance.

Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements and be able to meet the security requirements of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITARS).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain individual qualifications and certifications associated with Cert IV Aeroskills - Avionics IAW the Boeing Part 145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE)
  • Adhering to all approved maintenance processes and procedures
  • Ensuring all maintenance has been completed and that corrective maintenance actions satisfy the task requirements
  • Carry out aircraft and/or component maintenance duties, including task completion, certification and finalisation, in accordance with maintenance authorisation
  • Use equipment only in accordance with authorised instructions consistent with its safe and proper use.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Hold a Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics) - Essential
  • Hold or be able to obtain a Defence Security Clearance of Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) - Essential
  • Hold a C class driver's licence - Essential
  • Suitability to obtain DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML) - Essential
  • Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and the DASR 145 aircraft maintenance regulatory framework - Essential
  • Be able to demonstrate a contemporary working knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) practices - Essential
  • Prior maintenance experience in 737NG or derivative aircraft - Desirable

Security Clearance

You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a Government security clearance (Negative Vetting One) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time.
