About The Body Shop

The Body Shop was founded by Anita Roddick in 1976 with a vision of business as a force for good. Over 40 years later, we continue to pioneer cruelty‑free beauty and stay true to our roots in activism, vegetarian products and iconic campaigns. We are an ethical beauty brand that empowers people and enriches our planet while keeping it real and speaking the truth. Our activist spirit fuels everything we do, from window posters to our iconic campaigns. The Body Shop is committed to creating positive economic, social and environmental impact. We fight for what we believe in, never holding back, and we are looking for individuals who are not afraid to mix things up and help us break the mould.

Your role in a nutshell

  • Support the store management team in driving sales and profit by supervising and coaching customer consultants, often in the absence of store management.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience, enforce company procedures and policies, protect brand and company assets, and uphold The Body Shop’s values and vision.

More about the role

  • Customer Experience: In the role of Team Leader, work independently with minimal direction, act with urgency, handle customer concerns, maintain store layout, manage inventory, and support store operations. Coach Customer Consultants to achieve exceptional service standards and champion The Body Shop Campaigns.
  • Delivery: Understand the causes of sales trends, use storytelling to enhance customer experience, monitor and manage change, operate multiple systems, meet sales and performance targets, assist management in recruiting the right team, perform opening and closing procedures, and coordinate between customers, the team and the manager.
  • Teamwork and People Management: Act as a team player who supports change and new ideas. Assist management with training new staff, act as a flexible and responsible role model, and attract and retain people who reflect the brand.

What we look for

  • Experience working in customer service, and a genuine passion for beauty and the retail industry.
  • Ability to communicate and listen effectively and demonstrate operational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers and provide appropriate solutions to customer needs.
  • A positive mindset with a willingness to develop.
  • Ability to multitask, manage time and work flexible hours.
