The Role
As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen.
You will also be responsible for supporting kitchen staff where needed, handling deliveries and properly storing supplies.
Responsibilities include
- Wash, rinse, and sanitise kitchen utensils, dishes, pots, and pans using industrial dishwashing equipment or by hand as necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen by cleaning work surfaces, equipment, and floors regularly
- Collect and dispose of kitchen waste, recycling, and garbage in a hygienic manner
- Assistin receiving and storing food and supplies, ensuring proper labelling and storage practices
- Support kitchen staff as needed with basic food prep, such as peeling and chopping vegetables, andassistingin setting up and breaking down kitchen stations
- Collaborate with chefs, cooks, and fellow kitchen staff to maintain a clean and organi s ed workspace
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including food safety and sanitation standards
- Required Skills & Experience
- High school education or equivalent may be preferred
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen environment
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and utensils is a plus
- Prior experience in a similar role is beneficial but not mandatory
- Willingness to learn and take direction from kitchen leadership
