As Management Accountant - Hotels, you will be responsible for the preparation of the management accounts, analysis of data, supporting the budgeting and forecasting processes and overall ensuring accurate, financial reporting across the hotels within the group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports in a timely manner in line with group guidelines.
  • Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements that are supported by robust reconciliations for each balance.
  • Maintain daily site reporting dashboards, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Record and reconcile daily transactions, including revenue and bank statements.
  • Prepare and post accruals, prepayments and month end journals.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis to identify areas for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
  • Provide insights to management on financial performance and recommend options for improvement.
  • Develop site specific reports that add value and drive each hotel forwards.
  • Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and ensure group Capex and Depreciation policies are adhered to.
  • Support the Finance Director and external accountants in the preparation and submission of annual statutory accounts for each hotel.
  • With support from the Finance Director, lead the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes for each hotel.
  • Hold monthly meetings with all department heads and GMs of hotels to review and update expenditure forecasts.
  • Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and maintain suitable cash balances to meet day to day obligations for each hotel.
  • Work with the relevant GMs to prepare detailed budgets for events, private hire and other one-off activities.

Skills & Experience

  • A proven track record of delivering results.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and juggle multiple work streams and projects whilst working to strict deadlines.
  • Demonstratable cross functional experience.
  • Organised, logical with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to constructively challenge.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Attention to detail and analytical.
  • ACCA or CIMA qualification or qualified by experience.
  • Leisure and Hospitality experience required.
  • Experience of accounting software (Xero preferred).
  • Experience with HR and payroll systems (Harri preferred).
  • Experience of working with PMS and POS systems (Oracle Opera & Micros preferred).
  • Experience of handling and analysing large sources of data.
  • Full time
  • Primarily Monday to Friday however additional days may be required to meet business needs.
  • Hybrid role with attendance at each hotel as a minimum once per week or as required.
