About The Boathouse London

The Boathouse London operates three unique hospitality venues across London:

  • A luxury floating hotel in Paddington
  • A private events venue in Paddington
  • A rooftop cocktail bar in Canary Wharf

We host corporate events, private celebrations, brand activations and overnight stays, and we’re looking for an organised, proactive Operations & Venue Coordinator to help oversee the day-to-day running of our venues and ensure exceptional guest experiences.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on hospitality operations role responsible for the smooth running of our Paddington venues, supporting our Canary Wharf venue, and managing our team of hosts and operational staff as well as events. You will be the key operational contact across the business, ensuring venues are guest-ready, staff are properly scheduled and briefed, and high standards are maintained at all times and events run smoothly. This role would suit someone with experience in hospitality, events, hotels, venue management or operations who enjoys taking ownership and solving problems.

Key Responsibilities

Hotel Boat (Paddington West)

  • Conduct guest check-ins and guest welcome calls
  • Ensure the venue is guest-ready before every arrival
  • Carry out quality control checks following cleans
  • Manage stock levels and replenishment
  • Coordinate cleaners and hosts
  • Report and coordinate maintenance issues
  • Conduct regular venue inspections
  • Ensure luxury hospitality standards are maintained at all times

Events Boat (Paddington East)

  • Recruit, onboard and train hosts
  • Schedule hosts and operational staff
  • Print and distribute running orders
  • Brief staff ahead of events
  • Lead and host events
  • Ensure venue setup standards are maintained
  • Support hosts during live events when required
  • Conduct venue viewings for prospective clients
  • Ensure smooth event delivery and operational execution

Staffing & Team Management

  • Create and manage staffing rotas across the Paddington venues
  • Coordinate host schedules and shift allocations
  • Manage staff availability and shift cover
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding of new team members
  • Deliver staff training and operational briefings
  • Maintain service and presentation standards across all venues

Canary Wharf Oversight

Working alongside the Bar Manager, you will:

  • Provide operational oversight of the venue
  • Conduct regular venue visits and standards checks
  • Support staffing and rota management where required
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding
  • Ensure operational procedures are being followed
  • Act as an escalation point for operational issues when necessary
  • Support the wider management team in maintaining high guest experience standards

General Operations

  • Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day operational issues
  • Coordinate suppliers and contractors
  • Maintain operational checklists and procedures
  • Ensure all venues remain organised, stocked and well-presented
  • Support weekend and evening operations when required
  • Escalate major issues to senior management where necessary
