The King’s School is seeking to appoint two dedicated and inspiring Housemasters/ Housemistresses to lead our boys’ boarding houses. This is an exceptional opportunity for passionate educators and pastoral leaders to play a central role in shaping the lives of our pupils within a vibrant and caring boarding community.
The successful candidates will provide outstanding leadership, management, and day-to-day organisation of their Houses, ensuring the highest standards of pastoral care, welfare, and discipline. You will oversee the academic progress, personal development, and wellbeing of every pupil, fostering a supportive environment that reflects the ethos and values of King’s. Strong communication with parents, staff, and pupils is essential, as is a commitment to maintaining excellent administrative and safeguarding standards.
In addition to pastoral duties, you will teach pupils from Year 9 to Year 13 in your specialist subject, contributing enthusiastically to the rich academic and extracurricular life of the school. All subject areas will be considered.
The ideal candidate will have had pastoral leadership experience in schools or demonstrate clear leadership potential as well as an experienced teacher. You will inspire trust, promote inclusion, and embody the spirit of boarding school life—encouraging every pupil to flourish both inside and outside the classroom.
