Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the progress of the pupils, the quality of teaching within lessons, the behaviour, attainment and progress of pupils within lessons, and the reporting of pupils’ progress to parents.
  • Oversee continued development of the Mathematics subject in the Senior School as Head of Mathematics.
  • Teach a diverse range of techniques and processes where required.
  • Lead and manage the department, ensuring pupil-centric teaching and high expectations for all learners.
  • Provide effective guidance and support to all colleagues; work as part of a team.
  • The Head of Mathematics will be directly responsible to the Deputy Head (Teaching and Learning).

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to lead and work as part of a team; strong leadership and administrative capabilities.
  • Commitment to a pupil-centred teaching approach.
  • Ability to teach Further Maths would be advantageous.
