Hours: This is an all-year round appointment based on a 40-hour working week Monday to Friday with an hour unpaid lunch break. The Estates Department is open from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 7:00 am to 9:00 pm on Friday; a shift system is in place to cover these hours. Weekend work will be required in addition to the weekday hours on a rota basis and days off will be given during the week for weekend working.
The start date for this position will be as soon as possible. Suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date and the school reserves the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made; applicants are therefore encouraged to apply early.
We are looking for a skilled and flexible Estates Technician to join our hard working Estates team.
Main responsibilities:- In-house buildings maintenance including painting and decorating, carpentry and general maintenance
- Routine swimming pool water quality monitoring and recording (training will be provided if required)
- Legal compliance monitoring and recording such as legionella, fire safe systems, asbestos and emergency lighting
- Occasional inspection of all school transport, which could include the cleaning of vehicles and ad hoc driving duties
- When required liaise with external contractors whilst they are on site
- Full driving licence
- The ability to work cohesively as part of a team and independently
- Ideally, you will also have carpentry skills and experience of working with young people
