The Columbo Group is seeking a Head of Marketing to lead brand and marketing strategy across a portfolio of culturally respected music brands and venues, including Jazz Cafe, Phonox, Columbo Music, and our upcoming flagship venue, The Rex. This is a senior leadership role for someone who understands the intersection of culture, brand, audience growth, and live events. We’re looking for a strategic marketer with strong creative instincts, proven leadership experience, and a deep understanding of how to build demand.

You will oversee marketing across our music businesses, shaping brand positioning, leading campaigns, driving revenue, and managing a high-performing team.

The Role
  • Leading the overarching brand and marketing strategy across all music businesses
  • Managing and developing a team of Marketing Managers across multiple brands and venues
  • Overseeing content, creative, and design teams to deliver standout campaigns and content strategies
  • Driving audience growth, ticket sales, and long-term demand
  • Leading paid media strategy, audience development, and CRM direction
  • Ensuring each brand has a clear, distinct voice, identity, and positioning
  • Building marketing systems, processes, and reporting structures to improve performance
  • Partnering with senior leadership on long-term growth strategy and new business opportunities
About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has significant senior-level marketing experience within music, culture, entertainment, nightlife, or live events
  • Understands how to build culturally relevant brands that drive commercial performance
  • Has experience managing creative, content, and marketing teams
  • Thinks strategically while remaining highly executional and detail-oriented
  • Has a strong understanding of audience psychology, digital marketing, and modern discovery behaviour
  • Demonstrates excellent creative judgement and high standards for brand and design
  • Can balance short-term commercial results with long-term brand building
  • Is highly collaborative and confident leading cross-functional teams
  • Has a strong track record of managing, developing, and coaching individuals in a high-performance, commercially driven environment
