This one‑day micro‑volunteering opportunity is a great way to get involved without committing to regular volunteering.

You'll be part of our friendly team supporting the Blue Cross charity stall throughout the day. Volunteers will:

  • Welcome visitors to the stall and engage them about Blue Cross and our Thirsk Rehoming Centre.
  • Hand out information leaflets and encourage participation in the dog toy lucky dip.
  • Help keep the stall welcoming and tidy, and support setup and pack‑down before and after the event.
  • Provide extra support so staff and experienced volunteers can take breaks while ensuring the stall runs smoothly.

You'll be supported throughout the day by a member of the Blue Cross team and experienced fundraising volunteers, who will be on hand to provide guidance and answer any questions. No previous experience or formal training is required—just enthusiasm, confidence chatting to people, and a willingness to get involved.

The event takes place at Flatts Fields, Thirsk, YO7 1LY, from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Please note that the event is held on grass, which may not be suitable for everyone with mobility requirements. Volunteers should park in Thirsk town centre and walk to the event site.
